Patz & Hall 2015 Alder Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir (Mendocino County)

This wine, from a unique single-vineyard on steep slopes, has power along with complexity, combining aromas like sun-baked earth and dry leaves with layered cherry, tea and rhubarb flavors and a firm, nicely tannic texture. This will stand up to rich entrées very well, and should improve through at least 2021. Jim Gordon
