Patz & Hall 2016 Alder Springs Vineyard Chardonnay (Mendocino County)

Editors' Choice

Big but very agile, this full-bodied wine balances great fruit acidity with equally great richness in terms of ripe Anjou pear flavors and an almost thick, mouth-coating texture. The appearance has a faint green highlight in the yellow gold color, the aroma has toasted oak, butterscotch and apple, while the flavors nearly flood the palate with toasted almond, cream and baked pear.
