Paul Blanck 2014 Sommerberg Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

A whole profusion of apple notes assails the nose. There is freshly cut Red Delicious alongside dried apples and baked apple tart. Indeed, there are notions of bitter almond and frangipani paste. While this suggests aromatic richness, the palate remains dry and acts as the perfect foil for these riches. A textured seam of freshness guarantees that this will continue evolving. Drink now through 2028. Anne Krebiehl MW
