Paul Blanck 2015 Furstentum Grand Cru Pinot Gris (Alsace)

The nose is subtle with hints of green pear, but a zesty edge of lemon already suggests concentration and power. The palate follows suit with a wonderful textured where ripe pear notes are boosted by just a touch of residual sweetness. But it is both alcoholic heat and concentrated lemon zestiness that provide structure and convey a sense of power. This is a full-bodied white coming into its own now. Drink now through 2028.
