Paul Thomas 1997 Chardonnay (Washington)

Light gold in color, it offers up some pineapple and vanilla notes, along with an overripe pear quality on the nose. In the mouth, the flavors seem somewhat disjointed—the vanilla-oak component fights with with the modest fruit instead of complementing it. The finish is short and sweet. Joe Czerwinski
