Peachy Canyon 2012 Mustard Creek Zinfandel (Paso Robles)

Deep red fruit aromas lay across nicely rounded cedar, applewood and milk chocolate notes. The fairly tannic palate is more about texture than flavor, with tension linking blueberry ripeness to plum-skin tartness. Still very firm in structure, this will open up in 2017 or so. Matt Kettmann
