Pebblestone 2016 Ellis Vineyards Block 4 Cabernet Sauvignon (Rogue Valley)

There's little to suggest specific varietal character here. Aging 20 months in 30% new French oak has amped up the bitter, tannic flavors of stem and earth, adding a seam of espresso. There's a hint of sweet spice but little in the way of fruit; it's already aged into a generic red wine. Drink up. Paul Gregutt
