Pelletiere 2017 Riserva Lagrein (Paso Robles Willow Creek District)

This bottling of a rarely seen grape needs decanting or plenty of patience to properly open, but it's very intriguing once it does. Aromas of boysenberry, black licorice and graham cracker lead into a palate of black plum and lilac that develop from sour to richer as the wine breathes. Matt Kettmann
