Peñalolen 2006 Sauvignon Blanc (Limarí Valley)

There's a movement in Chile toward the Limari Valley for cooler-climate grapes like Sauvignon Blanc, yet this one hasn't really found its groove. The wine seems a bit soft and distant, with dilute aromas and flavors of peach, melon and apple. Yet the body is moderate to heavy, and the finish is sort of mealy. Michael Schachner
