Starts off pretty oaky, with smoke, cedar and toast dominating the aromatics. Fortunately, with some time in the glass the berry fruit emerges, along with a hint of eucalyptus. Despite firm tannins, the juicy berries shine on the finish, which bodes well for cellaring. —J.C.
