Comes out of the chute with a blast of almost grapy black cherry fruit, accented by smoke and vanilla. It's full-bodied, with clear flavors and decent intensity, but lacks depth and falls off a bit on the finish, costing it a point or two. It's still a good, serviceable Shiraz for everyday drinking.
