Penley Estate 2000 Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon (Coonawarra)

The entry is largely tomato and wet earth along with some spice. In the mouth, a bit of cherry and plum escapes, but still not enough to push the wine forward. While it seems solid and structured, what charms it has are mostly around the edges, meaning there isn't adequate depth. Michael Schachner
