Pepper Bridge 2019 Trine Red (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

This medium-bodied blend of Cabernet Franc (42%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%), Merlot (16%), Malbec (8%) and Petit Verdot (4%) was aged entirely in French oak, 49% new. There is a an enjoyable earthy note on the nose that combines duff, pine needles and a walk in the local community garden. Other aromas include blackberries, oregano and chocolate Tootsie Pops. The wine's plush tannins and modest acidity back concentrated flavors of blueberry compote and raspberry tart. Michael Alberty
