Peter Lehmann 2002 Mentor Red (Barossa)

A Cabernet-based blend, Lehmann's Mentor features a slightly herbaceous note, but one that's amply balanced by dark cassis fruit. It's fresh and appealing, with enough firm tannins on the finish to make it pair wonderfully with rare beef now, or worth holding a few years to soften. Joe Czerwinski
