Pfeffingen 2019 O Gold Cap Scheurebe (Pfalz)

Editors' Choice

Whispers of smoked hazelnut and biscotti mingle into plump lychee and white peach in this glorious, textured wine. Matured in oak but fragrant and illuminating in fruit, it's a penetrating, seductively spicy wine with an endlessly cream finish. Named “O” because it's likely to incite a chorus of “ohhhhhh's” upon tasting, it's a fantastic treat young with enough stuffing to mature well through 2027 at least. Anna Lee C. Iijima
