This Hungarian Kekfrankos, or Blaufränkisch, packs quite a punch on the nose and palate, with ebullient red-fruit notes that are melded with hints of green herb, briar and smoke. It is delicately structured but remarkably complex through its long, lingering finish. Anna Lee C. Iijima
