Pheasant Valley Winery 2009 Chukar Ridge Tempranillo (Columbia Valley (OR))

Chewy tannins give this wine a rustic edge, but the black cherry fruit and notes of fresh-cut tobacco are authentic to the variety. The finish is mouth-drying, which would make it just right with a fat cut of beef. Paul Gregutt
