Phelps Creek 2018 Regina Pommard Clone Selection Pinot Noir (Columbia Gorge (OR))

Estate grown and single clone, this has a spicy, herbal aroma, full-bodied black fruits and substantial, almost gritty tannins. It's a muscle wine, streaked with mineral and concentrated in the back palate, suggesting that it could well continue to evolve over the rest of the decade. The finish brings pleasing highlights of tobacco, with the textural complexity of nearly 30-year-old vines. Paul Gregutt
