Pietro Rinaldi 2013 Monvigliero (Barolo)

Classic Nebbiolo aromas of new leather, dark spice, wild berry and blue flower combine with an intriguing whiff of smoke on this compelling wine. Delicious and structured, the elegant full-bodied palate delivers mature Marasca cherry, raspberry compote, licorice and pipe tobacco framed in taut fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity will keep this going for years if not decades. It's already extremely tempting but hold onto it for even more complexity. Drink 2021–2033. Kerin O’Keefe
