A USDA Certified Organic beer, with a sticker on the bottle confirming such. Slightly hazy pale yellow color in the glass with a dense white head. Hay and tart lemony citrus lead the way on the nose with an underlying bready note supporting it. The mouth is brisk and tart, with lemon pepper, earthy yeast and herbal hop notes. Soft carbonation and a round, medium-heavy mouthfeel, this feels a bit fuller-bodied than most German Pilseners out there. The finish has good length and closes on a softly bitter note. Lauren Buzzeo

What Is Blind Tasting?

All tastings reported in the Buying Guide are performed blind. Typically, products are tasted in peer-group flights of from 5-8 samples. Reviewers may know general information about a flight to provide context—vintage, variety or appellation—but never the producer or retail price of any given selection. When possible, products considered flawed or uncustomary are retasted.
