Poderi d'Agostino 2016 F.D. Nero di Troia (Murgia)

A wealth of savory spice starts off this wine: anise and Chinese five spice powder are joined by orange and game. The full-bodied palate is big and plush in feel, filled out by ripe dark cherry and blackberry flavors. Despite the massive feel, there's plenty of balance from tangy acidity and a lifted mineral element. The tannins offer grip but remain in check, providing ample support for all that fruit.
