Poggio alle Sughere 2001 Splendido Sangiovese (Toscana)

Plum and blackberry coat the plump nose, backed by ripe black fruit that registers as pure but standard. Still fairly tight and tannic, and not showing any signs of maturity as of now. Potent and tight, with lots of oak and chocolate on the finish. Michael Schachner
