Pomar Junction 2016 Cotes de Pomar Blanc White (El Pomar District)

Very light in the glass, there is a subtle but growing tropicality on the nose of this blend of 40% Roussanne, 40% Grenache Blanc and 20% Viognier, with papaya, banana flower sap, candied honeysuckle and a bit of tuberose. The palate is clean with decent acidity, but those candied tropical flavors are overpowering, with mango, guava and banana syrup. Matt Kettmann
