Ponga 2010 Pinot Noir (Marlborough)

This is a pretty solid value for the price, as long as you don't mind plenty of oak influence. A cedary note dominates the nose and casts a long shadow across the cherry-stained palate, imparting a vanilla flavor and some drying tannins along the way. Despite that, there's ample length and a mouthwatering quality to the finish. Drink now. Joe Czerwinski
