New oak shapes the texture and heavily dominates the flavors of this firm and spicy wine. It shows vanilla and nutmeg in the aroma, and crisp apple flavors seasoned with ginger and cinnamon. Good acidity and a touch of tannin make it snappy on the palate. Aged in new Hungarian barrels, it needs some time to mellow. Best after 2020. Jim Gordon
