Prats & Symington LDA 2001 Chryseia Red (Douro)

Editors' Choice

The joint venture between Bruno Prats, formerly of Cos d'Estournel in Bordeaux, and the Symington family has already produced some great wines. This latest release of Chryseia, a blend of classic Douro varieties, is packed with intense cigar box aromas, with elegant tannins and with flavors of ripe, almost juicy red fruits. A herbal character is also in the blend to give a warm feel to what is a sophisticated wine. Roger Voss
