93pointsPreiss-Zimmer 2013 Brand Grand Cru Pinot Gris (Alsace)

The nose is subtle but sends some heady pear-tinged heat. The palate comes in with perceptible sweetness which boosts an array of juicy russet and yellow pear. An earthy phenolic backdrop provides some counter measure to this generous rounded ripeness, while freshness gives precision to this evolving, powerful but balanced wine. The finish is off dry. Drink now through 2028. Anne Krebiehl MW
