93pointsPreiss-Zimmer 2013 Brand Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

At first the nose is clouded by earthy funk but then rather pure notions of dried mandarin peel and ripe apple appear. The palate is very concentrated and also pulls this aromatic coup from earthy smoke to mandarin-scented marvel. This is unusual, but has real impact. The finish is dry and utterly lemon fresh. It's lovely now. Drink through 2028. Anne Krebiehl MW
