Hailing from Ribera del Duero, Protos is now making Verdejo in Rueda. This is not a universal-appeal type of wine. It's sharp and smells like nettles and little miss kitty, yet the palate delivers tasty pineapple and orange flavors. Not for everyone because it's very racy, but good in its own shoes.
