Psagot 2012 Merlot (Judean Hills)

Dark black cherry to the eye, this has a tantalizing bouquet of raspberry, black cherry and iodine with a touch of brambles. The palate offers a sophisticated mélange of blackberry and black cherry with strong notes of leather and toffee. Taking the grippy tannins into account, the wine offers surprisingly good fruity brightness into the lasting finish. Mike DeSimone
