Raphael 2014 Dessert Wine Riesling (North Fork of Long Island)

There's a slightly smoky, leather-armchair note that backs the baked apricot, lemon curd, butterscotch and burnt-sugar notes on this toffee-hued dessert wine. The palate isn't as intensely sweet as the nose implies, but is luscious in its mouthfeel, buoyed by lovely citrusy acidity that makes it easy to take another sip. Christina Pickard
