Raphael 2014 First Label Merlot (North Fork of Long Island)

Striking tones of roasted coffee, cocoa and toasty oak ride over a dense core of ripe dark cherry and plum. The palate is silken in feel, with a plush, round texture supported by grainy tannins and bright acidity. More oak shows in the flavors, yet it's integrated among bright cherry, dark currant and granite tones which lead to a lingering dark cocoa finish. Alexander Peartree
