Raphael 2017 Estate Malbec (New York)

This red shows the pure dark-fruited nature of the variety, unencumbered by any noticeable oak influence. There's a brambly edge to the black plum and blackberry tones, with stemmy spice, thyme and basil adding nuance. Slick tannins and bright acidity make this a fun, fresh offering. Alexander Peartree
