This opens with aromas of underbrush, coconut, French oak, menthol and grilled mushroom. Showing the heat of the vintage, the robust, bitter palate evokes raisin, dried raw cherry, powdered sage and scorching alcohol. The fruit richness has dried up while astringent tannins clench the lean finish.
