Made from Tourigas Nacional and Francesa, and some Tinto Roriz (Tempranillo), this is a crisp, almost lean, red that was aged in small oak barrels, about half of which were new and from Portugal. Green tea, vanilla and dark fruit blanket the nose. Through the palate it is tight as a drum, indicating that a few years may help this out. American wine consultant Jerry Luper oversaw the making of this wine. Kristen Richard
