Red Leaf 2013 Select Late Harvest Cabernet (Ontario)

Editors' Choice

A rusty, sundown russet color, this is scented with an inviting mix of preserved cherries and dried leaves. The flavors push deep down into the palate, with more dried cherries and dried figs also. The sweetness conjures up molasses and brown sugar without becoming at all syrupy. The mix is 50-50 Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, finished at 113 g/L residual sugar. Paul Gregutt
