Red Sky 2003 Merlot (Washington)

A blend of fruit from Conner Lee, Pepper Bridge and Seven Hills vineyards, this ripe (15.3% alcohol) Merlot doesn't show the heat. Rather it delivers intense flavors of black fruits, coffee and nuances of herb and fungus, nicely defined and structured. There is enough backbone for further aging. Paul Gregutt
