Renwood 2014 Tempranillo (Amador County)

A generous influence from new oak barrels works beautifully on this full-bodied spice-saturated and richly concentrated wine. It has everything from subtle cinnamon and cardamom to ripe and lush black cherry notes to a lingering finish that echoes spices and dark fruit. Fine-grained tannins shape the mouthfeel and add welcome grip. Jim Gordon
