Rex Hill 2001 Maresh Vineyard Loie's Block Pinot Noir (Oregon)

From the winery's oldest block of vines, this punches up the blue and black fruits a notch above the regular Maresh (pronounced marsh). There is a strong (perhaps a bit too strong) vanilla note, along with the vineyard's characteristic herbal/anise flavor. Paul Gregutt
