Rex Hill 2001 Reserve Pinot Gris (Oregon)

This smooth, fruity wine is great fun. It offers up a blast of spiced apple, pear and fig flavors that are fruity-sweet, although the finish is nice and dry. The texture is creamy smooth. Try as an alternative to Chardonnay. —S.H.
