Rex Hill 2016 Pinot Noir (Chehalem Mountains)

Dark fruits are married to toasty barrel flavors, yielding a potent mix of blackberry, black cherry, coffee and chocolate. Principally from the estate vineyard, plus one-quarter Jacob-Hart and a bit of Alloro fruit, it's a wine worth watching as it breathes open, adding hints of cinnamon, straw and vanilla. It was aged just under a year in 38% new French oak. Paul Gregutt
