Riverbench 2013 Pinot Noir (Santa Maria Valley)

The nose on this workhorse wine for the producer is reserved, but hints of wild berry, crushed clove, dried violets and potpourri emerge with patience. The palate shows lots of tea leaf, dried sagebrush and even patchouli, not offering much overt fruit character. Matt Kettmann
