Robert Hall 2012 Zinfandel (Paso Robles)

Rich, ripe red cherry and blackberry fruits mix with black earth on the nose. The tannins and acidity are quite present on the palate, where flavors of strawberry leather dissipate quickly. It's better than overly jammy Zins, but may be too austere. Matt Kettmann
