Robert Mondavi 1999 Chardonnay (Napa Valley)

Tight, lemony and leesy, this wine strides off in it's own direction, away from pronounced oak superripe fruit, more in the direction of mineral and stone. It's austere, sleek and steely, softened by lees creaminess, but angular. Call it Chablisian.
