Roblar 2016 Triomphe Red (Santa Barbara County)

Dark red-currant, dried herbs and cigar-box aromas make for an Old World-like elegance on this blend of 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Cabernet Franc, 24% Merlot and 12% Petit Verdot. Oregano, marjoram and peppercorn meet with elderberry and black plum on the palate, which is deep in loamy flavors and finishing on a hint of carnation. Matt Kettmann
