Rochioli 2004 Sauvignon Blanc (Russian River Valley)

Starts with rubbery, tar aromas, but they fade with time. But along the way there's a funky, sort of smoked ham note. Flavors of ginger and citrus are full and round, and they carry a honeyed accent. With that said, one reviewer was not a fan and found the wine far outside the parameters of “varietal correctness.”
