Roco 2016 The Stalker Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

The name reflects the unusual winemaking practice of drying the grape stalks separately and adding them back with the whole berries during fermentation. This is the best Stalker to date, showing more of the fruit and less of the dried stem flavors. Blackberries and cherries are in the mix, with a tasty seam of maple syrup as it winds down through the finish. Paul Gregutt
