Black fruit, spiced meats and overt wood tones set the stage for a traditional Cabernet palate of cassis, blackberry, clove and anise. The finish is fully tannic but not harsh, and tasty well-applied oak comes on late with the taste of coffee. This wine has plenty of merits, most of all its impeccable balance. Michael Schachner
