Rubus 2018 Shiraz (Barossa)

This opens with notes of raspberry, cherry, green peppercorn, briny olives and dried herbs with an amaro-like tinge. There's something a bit soapy and synthetic about the aromas. The palate feels even more forced. It's full bodied but lacking depth of flavor and texture, with oaky tannins and a drying finish that falls off quickly. Christina Pickard
