This bottling comes from cuttings of century-old vines on Santa Cruz Island, and they make a lively style of Zinfandel in this appellation's moderate climate. Lighter in the glass, the wine shows aromas of both snappy-fresh red fruit and dried cherry, with woodspice as warmth. The palate's strawberry and cranberry flavors are cut by vivid acidity and ample baking spice. Matt Kettmann
